Chief James Onanefe Ibori, the former governor of Delta state has been included as a member of the convention planning committee of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP).
Ibori was listed as the 41st person on the list of the main organizing committee of the party. The ex-governor recently returned to the country after serving a four-year jail term in a British prison.

The non-elective national convention will hold on Saturday, August 12th in Abuja and it is being put together to extend the tenure of the Markarfi-led national caretaker committee. This move is to enable the party conduct its elective convention which will hold in November.

The convention will also to see to the amendment of the party’s constitution.The former Delta State Governor who has not attended any political meeting at the national headquarters since he returned to the country, and was absent at the inaugural meeting of the committee last Wednesday.
A statement by Ibori’s former media aide, Tony Eluemunor who spoke on the development said that chief Ibori was still member of the PDP
“It is a privilege given to every former PDP governor. Ibori is a former governor and he has not left PDP.rSo, there is nothing unusual in his name being included in the list. He was invited to the last NEC meeting but he did not attend.”
